Scope and Contents
Photostats of records relating to the properties of Ewo Cotton Mills at Shanghai, including the Jessfield property, Kungyih Mill, Yangtszepoo Mill and Yulin Road, as follows:
Ewo Cotton Mills: Chinese deeds nos 9203, 10502 and 11754.
Land Office registration receipts nos 89 and 90, with a Shenko receipt for the Jessfield property.
B.C. (British Concession) title deeds nos 7391, 5675, 5750 and 10716.
S.M.C. (Shanghai Municipal Council) title deed no. 149.
There is also a letter from the Property Department, Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, to the Property Department, Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, 17 May 1949, which served as a covering letter for these and other photostats, some of which can be found elsewhere in F25/124. The letter lists documents for the following properties: Ewo Hong, etc.; Ewo Press Packing Co.; Ewo Cold Storage Co.; 442 Hungjao Road; 502 Hungjao Road; 272/274 Hungjao Road; Granada Estate; Granada Estate new property; 228 Hungjao Road; Block "A"; 46 Boissezon; Woosung; Woosung Estate - William Patterson; Kianwan - Beith and Camera; Chinkiang; Wuhu; Tsingtao; Shanghai & Hong Kong Wharf Co.; Ewo Cotton Mills; Ewo Breweries Ltd; and Jardine Engineering Corporation - Thorburn Road.
The documents are in an envelope labelled 'SP 55 Ewo Cotton Mills Env.SP-55-1'. This is inside another envelope labelled 'SP-55' and 'Shanghai Properties', which includes a typescript contents list inside.
