Property records, 1854-1952
Scope and Contents
Originals and copies of records relating to properties of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in China, Hong Kong and Japan, including title deeds and plans, with related correspondence. The documents are stored in numbered and labelled envelopes. The envelopes were compiled in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and include photostats and contents lists made at this time. Most of the documents are in Chinese or English, but there are also some items in French, Japanese and Russian.

Access to the collection is subject to special conditions and is at the discretion of Matheson & Co. Ltd, part of the Jardine Matheson Group. Records described in the catalogue as being in a bad condition are in a fragile state that precludes them being made available to readers.
