Scope and Contents

Copies (mostly press copies) of letters from Ryle Holme and Thomas Robertson, Nagasaki, including letters regarding the Takasima Colliery. Many of the letters are to Jardine Matheson, Shanghai and Yokohama, but there are also letters to correspondents in Chefoo, Hakodadi, Hiogo, Kobe, London, Nagasaki, Newchwang, Taku and Tientsin. The bundle also includes some letters from Jardine Matheson, Yokohama, to Jardine Matheson, Nagasaki, and others. An accompanying label describes the letters as 'Nagasaki + Yokohama Correspondence 1878'.
