Scope and Contents

Notes, memoranda and other items from unspecified places. The documents include a list of silk shippers to Europe using S.S. 'Madras', 11 August 1869; a table of Jardine, Matheson & Co's unsold parcels on 30 June 1876; a list by Augustine Heard & Co. of properties for sale in China, Hong Kong and Japan under arrangements with Benecke Souchay & Co. and Baring Bros & Co., undated; a list of Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s unsold cloths, undated; a list of duties to be paid on goods imported from the East Indies and elsewhere by French vessels, undated; and a company logo of Jardine, Matheson & Co. The remaining papers are mainly untitled, and often undated, memoranda, notes and fragments.

Access to the collection is subject to special conditions and is at the discretion of Matheson and Co. Ltd, part of the Jardine Matheson Group.
