Miscellaneous business records from China and Hong Kong of Jardine, Matheson and Co. and other companies, including a list of papers, bonds, etc., in an iron box belonging to H. Magniac, 12 December 1825; a note in William Jardine's hand giving instructions for the period of his absence from Canton, dated Canton, 20 May 1831; a memorandum prepared by James Matheson for Mr Ryan on Jardine, Matheson and Co.'s financial relations with the Hong merchants, Hong Kong, 23 September 1839; a notice by Augustine Heard and Co. of the despatch of the S.S. 'Lotus' to Shanghai, inviting applications for opium freight or cabin passage, with a list of signatories below, Hong Kong, 30 August 1862; a table by Milisch and Co. of the return of opium imported at Tamsui and Keeling during 1867, dated Tamsui, 31 December 1867; a statement by Milisch and Co. of estimated sales and stocks of Benares opium, Tamsui, 4 May 1868; a valuation of Marine Lot No. 40, Praya East, Hong Kong, dated Hong Kong, 19 February 1872; a press copy of a proposal for an Anglo-Chinese Bank, Shanghai, 7 August 1883; a cash account and balance sheet of the Lee Yuen Sugar Refinery Co. Ltd, Hong Kong, 3 March 1884; a table of comparative receipts of the Canton Insurance Office Ltd for 1883-1884, dated Hong Kong, 16 February 1885; a memorandum on the Canton Condition House Company by Alfred Rowe, Honorary Secretary, Canton, 21 July 1890; a list of works to be done by the Dock Company on S.S. 'Chelydra', Hong Kong, 20 May 1891; a delivery note for 200 cases of kerosene oil delivered by Jardine, Matheson and Co. to Hung Kee, dated Wanchai, 23 September 1905; a table recording the export of white and yellow silks from Shanghai from 1881-1882 to 1906-1907; a memorandum on waste silk, Shanghai, 5 March 1912; a list of the comparative loss in weight of three parcels of Canton silk, by Jardine, Matheson and Co., Hong Kong, undated; and a memorandum on the proposed sale of a house at Macao belonging to Sai Alloy, undated.
There are also three notices from agents in Hong Kong to consignees reporting the arrivals of vessels and requesting that they take delivery of their goods: David Sassoon, Sons and Co. regarding S.S. 'Hindustan' from Calcutta, Penang and Singapore, 9 April 1875; Arnhold Karberg and Co. on the 'Solent' from London, 1 September 1875; and Jardine, Matheson and Co. on S.S. 'Glenartney' from Singapore and London, 6 September 1875.
