Scope and Contents
Miscellaneous accounts of Jardine, Matheson and Co., with related letters and a few other items (manuscript unless otherwise indicated). Many of the papers concern the Trust for Mrs A.S. Keswick.

Records described in the catalogue as being in a bad condition are in a fragile state that precludes them being made available to readers.
Access is generally available to documents dated up to 1969. Access to some earlier records may be restricted under the terms of the Data Protection Act, 1998.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The documents originate from two sources: a boxfile entitled 'Various final accounts 1889/90 etc', and a box-file labelled 'Hong Kong to London 1888 Loose', which was comprised primarily of copies of letters from correspondents in Hong Kong to William Keswick, London (the letters are now D1/1/2/7/2).
