The documents include a memorandum of the cost of a shipment of tobacco, December 1861; a memorandum of amounts making up the balance of Yowloong's account for 1866-1867; a comparative statement of goods sold in Hankow from foreign hands, 1866-1868; memoranda regarding quotations and sales of fabric goods; particulars of tea settlements and memoranda of purchases and shipments of tea; memoranda of assets and liabilities; a list of properties in Hankow under the charge of Henry Beveridge's agency; a memorandum of remittances to Jardine, Matheson & Co. on the private account of Henry Beveridge; a copy of a notice from A. Davenport, temporarily in charge of the British consulate in Hankow, regarding the movements of British residents in Hankow at a time of likely disorder, February 1869; a memorandum of resolutions passed at a meeting of the Hankow General Chamber of Commerce, March 1869, with a notice of the meeting; stock and sales accounts of opium; memoranda regarding the character of teas; comparative memoranda of tea settlements; and memoranda regarding ships, cargoes and freights of the vessels of various shipping companies. The documents include reference to S.J. Gower; E.H. Kenney; Robert Watmore; Drysdale, Ringer & Co.; and piece goods.
