Scope and Contents

1869; a memorandum from Herbert Magniac [at Canton] regarding a lease, 1826; a memorandum from Howqua and other Chinese merchants to [William] Jardine and other foreign merchants, regarding measures used for broad-cloth; a memorandum regarding the collection of customs revenue by Chinese officials [Hong Kong], 1871; a letter from F. Piñeyro (Piñeiro), Hong Kong, to J.M. Armstrong, 1863; a memorandum of agreement between B.C. Wilcocks and two Chinese carpenters for the rebuilding of factories in the Creek Hong, with a memorandum of the cost of the factories [Canton], 1827; a memorandum regarding a probable fraud perpetuated by Captain White of the 'Margaret'; and 'Regulations for the guidance of foreign merchants trading in the Interior', undated. The documents include reference to Amoon and shipping.
