'Brief Narrative of Events connected with the placing in durance, by the Chinese Government, of Her Majesty's Chief Superintendent, and all Foreigners at Canton, to extort the surrender of all Opium under their control in Ships off the Coast of China', relating to events in March 1839. The document is an undated draft, with emendations in the hand of James Matheson.
