Scope and Contents

The documents include receipts for opium taken on board the 'Lady Hayes'; memoranda of marks and numbers of opium delivered from May to October 1845; a memorandum of opium selected and marked by Aquaan and I Yow; memoranda of bills of lading of the 'Lanrick', regarding opium delivered at Cumsingmoon; the opium account of Joseph Jardine with the 'Lady Hayes'; memoranda of short weights of opium; a sales account of inferior opium; and a stock account of opium on board the 'John'. The documents include reference to J. Burley and David Jardine.
