Memoranda and advertisements, mostly regarding the 'Hong Kong Times' and the 'Daily Advertiser', dated Hong Kong and elsewhere, comprised largely of advertisements submitted for publication in the newspapers, including governmental notifications, personal announcements, notices to consignees, and notices of auction sales, trademen's wares and services procurable, ships' voyages, share issues, and social, musical and theatrical events. There are also memoranda regarding subscriptions to the 'Hong Kong Times', errors in the paper, rates payable, and other matters, and a broadside advertisement of a public auction on 6 February 1874. The documents include reference to William Curtis; J.M. Guedes; H.P.C. Lassen; Thomas Preston; David Sassoon; Douglas Lapraik & Co.; Lammert, Atkinson & Co.; Post Office; Bangkok; Indochina; Siam; Saigon; and forgery.
