Scope and Contents
The documents are in English and Portuguese, and are dated Chinkiang, Hong Kong, Macao, Melbourne, Penang, Rotterdam, Singapore, Swatow and Weuchow. They include memoranda regarding the cost of tea, Weuchow and Macao; an account of Jardine, Matheson & Co. with Margesson & Co.; memoranda regarding the 'Spark', including statements regarding coal; a memorandum of contributions from Macao to the Canton Insurance Office; a memorandum regarding modifications to the 'Clan Alpine'; memoranda regarding supplies to the 'Glenartney'; memoranda of claims against the 'Glenartney' from Calcutta for short delivery and goods landed wet, dated Penang; memoranda regarding the working the Luzon Sugar Refinery; memoranda of charters and settlements, Saigon; a memorandum of goods landed, Singapore; a memoranda on a fee due by Joseph Jardine; accounts regarding pilotage; results of tea sales in Rotterdam; a note regarding charges on treasure, Singapore; a statement of the cost of stores, Manila; and a memorandum of account for land purchased at Kaotze.
