Memoranda and accounts: Foochow, 1867-1873
Scope and Contents
The documents include memoranda of costs and charges on tea; outturns of treasure and specie; stock and sales accounts of opium; a general stock account; memoranda of disbursements of various vessels; a memorandum of sums advanced to the captain of the 'Matador'; freight accounts for the 'Dragon' and other vessels; and a memorandum of commissions returned to Douglas Lapraik & Co. on account of shipments of tea. The documents include reference to W. Paterson and the 'Nil Desperandum'.
