Scope and Contents
Accounts of receipts and deliveries of opium, dated aboard the 'Bomanjee Hormusjee', Hong Kong, May 1844-June 1852. There are also memoranda from various places, mostly regarding the weight and quality of opium shipped on various vessels, July 1843-October 1859; a letter and memoranda regarding Turkey opium, April 1845; and a statement of opium exports to China and the Straits for 6 June-7 October 1846, arranged by vessel and giving the names of the shippers. The documents include reference to R.R. Calvert; R.C. Crawford; G.F. Davidson; George Macalister; Donald Matheson; George Rorie; William Thom; 'Ariel'; 'Gazelle'; 'Hellas'; 'Mahamoodie'; 'Red Rover'; Foochow; Woosung; and shipping.
