Scope and Contents

Wire-bound album of 33 offprints of advertisements for the General Post Office. 'F. M. originated and designed & copy-wrote this series at Mather & Crowther' - inscription on front cover.It is also inscribed: 'Advertisements designed and written by F.M. for Post Office - except first four which have typographer's name printed at foot' (viz. James Shand, Oliver Simon, J. H. Mason, Ashley Havenden). A leaf of original artwork for one of the advertisments, and a tear-sheet from Advertising World with an article on the advertisements, are in a separate folder.
