The backs of those from 528 on, and some sheets of an earlier draft, have be re-used by Maxwell for a draft of his paper 'On Loschmidt's experiments on the diffusion of gases' (SP LIX; SLP 470) and related calculations (3 ff.). There are also galley proofs of a few sections of the first edition, corrected by Maxwell and P.G. Tait, and the draft (11 ff.) of additions to article 74 for the second edition, 1881.
