Scope and Contents
This is ‘A photographic reproduction of the original Royal Injunctions issued under the authority of King Henry VIII by his vicegerent Thomas (Lord) Cromwell ordering the Bible in English to be set up in every parish church dated September 5th 1538’. The file contains photographs of the document held at the Public Record Office (The National Archives) with a transcription. The date of the photographs is not given so the dates are taken from the years of employment of Brooke Crutchley, University Printer.
