Scope and Contents
This series of photographs documents the Royal Visit to Belgium in May 1922. It features King George V and Queen Mary touring First World War battlefields and cemeteries, and attending memorial ceremonies. King Albert 1 of Belgium appears in Y3062S/28; French generals Ferdinand Foch and Maxime Weygand, and British general Douglas Haig appear in Y3062S/35-36; and Rudyard Kipling appears in Y3062S/32. Y3062S/23 and Y3062S/30 show monuments commemorating the Zeebrugge Raid of 23 April 1918. Neville Chamberlain appears in Y3062S/34 which may date from a later event.
