Scope and Contents
240 x 188 mm. A view from the harbour wharf showing crowds of Swahili labourers working among the chaos of overturned lighters and other craft washed onto the shore during a storm. The reverse of the photograph is annotated: 'Even the floating copra in the right foreground was salved'. The harbour wall can be seen in the background with the Beit el Ajait and the Sultan's Palace at the right of the print.
