Showing a row of Masai warriors armed with spears, the figure at the left also holding a shield. Gedge’s diary entry for the day records the occasion, ‘In the afternoon took couple of photos of Wanderobbo; gave them dawa in the shape of small bits of paper with a word written on, and a dab of red paint. Had a snooze afterwards.’ Earlier Gedge had described the people: 'The Wanderobbo people, men and women, came freely about the camp. The men are really outlawed Masai, dressed the same and their manners and customs are much alike' (August 22nd 1889).
