Scope and Contents

Showing a large buffalo lying dead on the ground with an .8 bore shotgun placed beside the beast. Gedge’s diary for the day records the shooting of the animal: ‘The Dr joined me later with the news of a large herd of buffalo on ahead. Went after them and getting within range opened fire on them, wounding 3 or 4 badly. J. coming up. We all went on and finally finished off 3, 2 cows and a bull. The bull looked nasty and like charging, but I landed him with a brace of 8 bore conicals that put him out of time v quickly.’ Duplicate of Y30468K/51.
