Scope and Contents
156 x 113 mm. Showing the three dead elephants lying in a clearing of trampled grass with the gun bearers Ramazan and Sudi standing beside the animals holding elephant guns. The elephants were shot on the 26th and photographed on the 27th: ‘J and I saw 5 elephants standing in some v. tall grass, 30 more having left and got clean away… finally we bagged the 3, which was not bad out of 5… Started about 8 am with the Dr, who wanted to see the beast we shot yesterday. Got there after a hot walk of an hr and 2. After photographing the animals and resting a bit, took my men and went on…’
