The Sultan leaving the Beit el Ajeib, 1904 - 1905
Scope and Contents
227 x 172 mm. A view looking down from the temporary lighthouse beside the Beit el Ajeib onto the scene in front of the Palace. A long line of carriages waits to pick up the Arab dignitaries standing by the front entrance and around the Sultan, who is seated in the first carriage. The nature of the occasion is unidentified but it would be after the Sultan’s coming of age, since only the Zanzibar flag is outside the palace.
