Arrival of the Aga Khan in Zanzibar, Tuesday August 15th 1905, 1905-08-15
Scope and Contents
247 x 195 mm. A view showing the Aga Khan stepping onto the Palace Pier from a longboat flying the Zanzibar flag. On the pier itself a welcoming crowd waves banners while at the end of the pier A.S. Rogers stands to meet the Aga Khan. Still in the longboat are Brigadier-General A.E.H. Raikes, who went out to meet the Aga Khan, and dignitaries of the Khofa Ismaili community. The ship the group travelled in from Mombasa, the S.S. ‘Bohemia’, can be seen at anchor in the harbour. The Aga Khan left Zanzibar on September 29th 1905.
