The Sultan arriving at the British Residency, Wednesday June 7th 1905, 1905-06-07
Scope and Contents
228 x 174 mm. A view looking down onto the Residency drive and towards the lawn and buildings. A crowd of guests await the arrival of the Sultan who with his mounted escort is riding along the drive. The figure seated beside him is probably A.S Rogers. This ‘At Home’ took place at 5pm on the day of the Sultan’s coming of age and was attended by leading figures from the European, Arab and Indian communities, ‘Zanzibar Gazette’ June 14th 1905.
