Scope and Contents
235 x 171 mm. A view from the palace steps showing a procession of English officials arriving at the Beit el Ajaib for the Grand Baraza. In the front row left to right are B.S Cave, Consul-General, Captain Baker in command of ‘Terpsichore’ and Lindsey Smith, judge in the court of Zanzibar. The uniformed officials behind are probably officers from HMS ‘Terpsichore’. At the Baraza speeches were made by B.S. Cave and by representatives of different sections of the community, announcing the formal ending of the Regency and offering good wishes for the future.
