German longboat arriving at Palace Pier, 1905
Scope and Contents
234 x 176 mm. A view looking over the square in front of the Beit el Ajaib towards the Palace Pier and the harbour. Crowds of spectators line the waterfront as a longboat flying the German flag approaches the guard of honour on the pier. The occasion is probably the arrival of either Prince Adalbert or Dr Stuhlmann. The photograph is taken from the temporary lighthouse just west of the Beit el Ajaib.
