Scope and Contents
263 x 215 mm. A view showing European, Arab and Indian residents of Zanzibar seated in a flag-draped room, presumably for the musical evening given by J.R. Smith and the staff of the ETC which is reported in the ‘Zanzibar Gazette’ for March 1st 1905. A.S. Rogers, in informal clothes, sits at the head of the gathering. No other figures have been identified. The entertainment consisted of songs and music followed by ‘Crazed’ a ‘musical trifle… rendered in faultless style and real artistic feeling’.
