Mainland Africans, 1898 - 1905
Scope and Contents
212 x 152 mm. A view showing a group of Masai women carrying loads of sticks and water, posed in front of an encampment of tents. Date and location unknown. One of the tents in the background is stamped U.R. 1898, so the encampment is probably connected with Uganda Railway work, and the photograph taken in, or after, 1898. Y30468B/45 and 47 are also by the same photographer (William D. Young) and show similar scenes.
