236 x 173 mm. A view taken from the same viewpoint as Y30468A/39 but a few moments later. The gun carriage bearing the coffin is now in the foreground and the pall-bearers can be identified from the list in the ‘Zanzibar Gazette’ (16/10/01):
Ten officials of the Zanzibar Government were the pall-bearers, on the right side in order being Captain Agnew [Port Officer], Mr Bomanjee Maneckjee [Minister of Public Works], Dr Macdonald [Government Medical Officer], Mr Wilson [Solicitor], Mr Swinherd [Customs Officer]: on the left side Mr J.T. Last [Commissioner for Slavery], Mr Coster [Collector of Customs], Dr Spurrier [Government Health Officer], Mr Lyne [Director of Agriculture] Mr Reilly [Eastern Telegraph Co.] Behind the coffin are the two principal mourners Basil Cave and General Raikes, followed by a crowd of mourners and spectators.
