Weston Collection 1, 1950 - 1966

 Series
Reference Code: GBR/0115/RCS/Y3043TT

Scope and Contents

A collection of photographs, negatives and watercolours relating to Nigeria and Ghana. The negatives, of which there are 70, are un-numbered. They are both black-and-white and coloured, and have not been examined in detail. Some have details marked on the envelopes, and it is possible that they may in some cases be the original source of photographs listed above.

Also kept with this collection is issue Volume 3, Number 5 of 'Ghana Reconstructs', 1963. This has an article 'Training for rural Health Work' by J. Osofu Appiah on pages 22-24, which describes the work of the Community Health Nurses' Training School at Akim Oda: on page 24 there is a photograph of the Principal, Miss Britta Ohlin, and Miss Pearce Simmonds in discussion with trainees.
