Funeral at Shi, 1940-02-11
Scope and Contents
62 x 40 mm. The chief, father of the woman, then produced the dowry, twenty 'shoves' queer shaped bits of iron which are currency here, and a goat, and had a lot to say about the question of whether or not the Juju was in the husband or not. The husband sat at the foot of the bier on which lay the child, in a dejected attitude. In front of the chief are two bundles of grass credited with Juju powers and with which he spat and touched the family of the wife.
