Trousdell Volume I, 1905 - 1906
Scope and Contents
An album containing prints neatly captioned in Trousdell's hand. All prints measure 102 x 77 mm unless otherwise stated, and are not detailed in the individual print catalogue: photographs in a portrait format are denoted by '(vertical)' after the caption. The album, dated December 1906, was given by Trousdell as a present to his mother, presumably on his return to Nigeria at the end of his first leave, scenes included show views in Calabar, photographs taken during a journey up the Cross River, and scenes at Bonny, Opobo, Aba and Akassa. The final prints show views taken at Sekondi, Freetown, Grand Cess and Las Palmas while Trousdell was on his way home for his first leave in July 1906.
