Scope and Contents
163 x 133 mm. A view after the flags have been raised with the troops cheering. This ceremony was followed by a short religious service and then the playing of Gordon's favourite hymn 'Abide with me', by the band of the 11th Sudanese. The photograph is stuck on to an album page entitled 'Khartum, September 4th'.
