[Suez Canal construction work Ismailia], 1905 - 1906
Scope and Contents
299 x 239 mm. A view showing Egyptian labourers at work shifting earth with horse drawn railway trolleys under the supervision of an European overseer. In the background can be seen the funnels of numerous large steamers, and it seems likely that this is Port Ismailia, where Henry Williamson worked as a canal constructor after work had finished on the Aswan Dam. Y3041B/38 may also have been taken in this area.
