South Side of Dam from West Bank, 1902-05-29
Scope and Contents
291 x 241 mm. A view showing the dam at a slightly earlier stage of construction than Y3041B/1, with work still in progress on the roadway across the dam and with the navigation locks in the foreground still at the quarrying stage. The reservoir side of the dam is virtually empty, with no water remaining from the floods of 1901, which were exceptionally low: from the builders’ point of view this was welcome since it allowed work on the dam to start earlier in the year than was usual.
