Akbari Mandi, 1928
Scope and Contents
151 x 111 mm. Grain for sale lying on the road by drain. ‘Requirements: The proper construction of the grain godowns and provision of suitable paving in the various grain mandis. An instance of this requirement is the Ak-bari Mandi where grain lies in heaps among the dust. It has been suggested that two mandis should be provided outside the city. My own observation leads me to believe that the grain sellers in the mandis are mainly concerned with the retail trade. One can no more remove them than the milk cattle, without damage to the life of the city.
