Showing a boy reading Mutende, the African newspaper of Northern Rhodesia. The typewritten caption on the reverse reads 'At Mindolo over a thousand people have learned to read and write in this way. The boys in this picture can read Mutende, which was meaningless to them less than two months ago'.
