Scope and Contents
Showing two women learning to read. The typewritten caption on the reverse reads 'The women, with husbands away at work on the mines, take more enthusiastically to learning than the men. They want to be able to write to their husbands asking for more money, and what about that fancy piece he has been seen with round the Indian stores!'.
