Umana village. Co-operative Shop, 1940 - 1949
Scope and Contents
A single storey stone building with corrugated-iron roof. The printed caption on the reverse reads 'Note - shop boy's quarters at back'. A pencilled annotation on the reverse reads 'Umana Village. Co-op shop. This was originally a copy of Ojwoka shop (see 8) but was built 4 feet longer than the Ojwoka one. Then Obwofia built theirs (see 17) with shop-boys quarters attached. So as an afterthought Umana added shop boy's quarters at back - easily distinguishable in photograph'.
