Udi Village. Mass Literacy class, 1940 - 1949
Scope and Contents
Showing a row of women at a table in the open air receiving instruction. A typewritten caption (which duplicates most of a pencilled annotation) on the reverse reads 'This is the 'top' class for women - normally 12. These are wives of miners at Enugu and of N.A. [Native Administration] employees'. The annotation continues 'Note these women are well dressed'.
