Canada 'A' Tour 1937, 1937

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/0115/RCS/Y3011FFF/36

Scope and Contents

140 x 80 mm. Group on board 'Antonia'. In 1936 the School Empire-Tour Committee took over responsibility for the Canadian tours which had been established by the Cunard White Star Line and led by Major J.M. West, a master at Shrewsbury. Two tours were therefore held in 1937.

A menu from the farewell dinner for the tour, held aboard 'Antonia' on 20 Aug. 1937, belonging to one of the participants, Oswald Cook, is filed with the photograph. It is signed by many of the tour members and by members of the Canadian Oxford Group. It was donated by David Rumball in 2022.
