Jack Walpole, 1913 - 1914
Scope and Contents
88 x 88 mm. Showing Jack Walpole standing on the steps of Government House, St. John. No biographical details concerning Walpole have been found, but he may be the Jack frequently mentioned in Bell's letters who came to Antigua to convalesce in December 1912: 'I found that the Lear trio had arrived alright the day before and were comfortably installed at Govt. House. They were all looking well but poor Jack has, since then, had one of his rather bad attacks. The doctor told Nell that his heart is really in a most serious state and I judged from what he said that the poor little chap is in a very bad way.' (Bell 1912, December 18).
