Scope and Contents

291 x 241 mm. A view looking along the valley towards the steep-sided Majuba Hill, scene of the British defeat on February 27 1881 and the death of General Colley, the commander. The Boers made their first assault from the steep western slope. The print is signed 'E. Caney Maritzburg' and has the caption: 'West side of Majuba Hill', and is also numbered 'No. 17.'
