Scope and Contents

328 x 233 mm. A view from the Signal Hill Station looking in a southerly direction over the western side of Cape Town towards Devil's Peak. At the left of the print are the Houses of Parliament standing next to the central wooded area of the botanical gardens. Roeland Road leads off from the gardens (with the Roman Catholic cathedral at their junction) before petering out on the foothills of Devil's Peak. In the centre foreground St. Martin's Lutheran Church (with spire) and St. Paul's Church stand on either side of Orphan Street below Schoon Kloof.
