The caption on the album page continues: 'Her hair is matted with black oil, and small plates of white metal are attached for ornamentation. (The Jolloff girls - a tribe in Gambia and Senegal have a similar headdressing.) A lip plug of metal (Egidur) is worn both by the men and women'.
