Scope and Contents

The caption at the top of the album page continues: 'The chignon is the same style as the Labwor, but attached to this is a curved hoop - very springy, made from rib bones of buck. These are carefully tapered and bound tightly with leather. A large bauble of ostrich feathers is fixed to the free end of the hoop which is kept in position by string'.
