Scope and Contents
The caption to the left of the photograph reads: 'The binding is put on immediately after birth, while the bone is still soft. It is kept on for about one year to as long as eighteen months according to the discretion of the parents, and the sex of the child. Girls are usually subjected to a longer treatment than the boys'.
