Bush elephant killed at Bodjo, Upper Wele, Congo (Aba-Niangara Road), 1915, 1915

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/0115/RCS/Y304A/181

Scope and Contents

101 x 76 mm. A view showing two Africans standing beside an elephant shot by Christy. In Christy (1924), he states that the tusks weighed between 119 and 120 lbs, but on the back of two copies of this print the figure is given as 97 and 107 lbs. There would appear to be some confusion between this elephant and another featured in this collection.
