Scope and Contents

118 x 170 mm. A portrait of an African standing outside a grass hut. Despite the individuality of his clothes and hairstyle, his location and ethnic group have not been identified. The man's hair is shaved away from his temples and worn in a circular bun at the back of his head. He wears necklaces and toe rings and carries a paddle-shaped wooden club. His clothes consist of a cloth dress wound around the body, decorated with tassels at the edges of the material. Photographer unknown.
